Life + Style = Change

LIFESTYLE CHANGE! Okay, I’ve never been a fan of the word “diet”, so you will not read that word in this blog post.

Soooo James and I have decided to get back on the “lifestyle change” train… again… Seriously, why is it so hard to get healthy? You know, exercise, eat healthy, consistency with both? We’ve both lost weight in the past and sadly gained it back. The other day, I literally felt disgusted with it all. I know that disgust is a strong word, but that’s really the best word to describe it. I currently do a monthly menu for us and for the month of December, I’m going to blog about our journey. What I cooked for the week, the struggles that I’m feeling and other things will all be documented. I like to browse and try Pinterest recipes often and so I’ll share the link to any that I’ve tried and believe will help us to be successful with this journey. I don’t plan on sharing my start weight until I’ve lost a good 10 pounds though, okay… So work with me here. Lol.

I tried to find a specific type of plan for us but honestly, I started to feel slightly overwhelmed and had to walk away from both the computer and notebook. So, I’ve decided to do low carbs, keto and basically anything else that’s healthy. That way my recipes are broadened and I have more range with things… and since James eats just about anything, the area of recipes falls mostly on me. Since we’ve been on this train before, we know what works best for us… I now that I can’t be strict on myself, so I know that I’ll have cheat days here and there. As long as I don’t go overboard, then I’ll be okay. I’ll definitely be upping my water intake DRASTICALLY! My soda story will have to be for another time though. Oh and fast food… I’m not saying that we’re eliminating fast food altogether but we plan to cut it out drastically with certain exceptions.

So, I’ll be filling my water jug in preparation of this journey. And I finished my last coke for a while. Maybe I’ll just drink one once a week instead of cutting sodas out completely? I’m not sure yet but that’s part of the reason why I’ll be documenting everything, so that I can learn along the way and have something to look back on! I signed up for a 5 day yoga pass and so I’m excited to try it out. With my last weight loss, I wasn’t very active… at all… and I know that’s an important part of being healthy. James will be attempting to go to the gym. With his schedule, it’s hard for him to find the right time to go at times.

So our weights have now been recorded and we are ready to start! I plan to weigh in weekly which will be a slight challenge since I like to weigh daily. But weighing daily plays with my emotions too much. James is used to weighing in weekly, so he should be okay. And so there you have it! Even though we’ve been down this road before, for some reason, I’m excited about it this time. We also decided to take advantage and eat something that we won’t be eating for a while. I opted for a patty melt with hash browns and he had Chinese food. Yummy!

So, my next update will be next week! Can’t wait to share our updates with you. Anyone have any helpful tips or encouraging words? I would love to hear them! I’m just so ready to start doing better so that I can live life to the fullest… the HEALTHY way!

  1. You’re race starting now instead of January but that’s great! You’ll be that much further ahead!

    1. YESSSSSSSSSS! I know right. I originally wanted to wait until January but I’m so over feeling “blah”… Lol… I know that my “non” healthy habits are contributing to this feeling so I need to do better.
