Hello all! I know it’s been a LONG time since i’ve written on this blog. But what can I say?? Life Happened! Lol. Seriously though, my goal is to pay more attention to this blog and that’s what I intend to do. A couple of years ago, I blogged about James and I trying to go out on date nights more often. We were able to go ice skating (which was a blast) but unfortunately after that, we placed everything on hold. The pandemic hit and add our pregnancy on top of that and here we are… just now… getting back into our date nights.
A few months ago, I told James (as a very hormonal mother of a newborn, i’m sure) that we very desperately needed alone time and ofcourse he was all for it! So over the summer, we started our monthly date nights, where we always try and do something new. So far, we’ve been to a sip and paint, Top Golf and most recently, a dinner cruise (which is basically what this blog is about).
When I researched “Fun things to do on dates near the Charlotte area”, many things came up. One of those being, a dinner cruise. I knew we would have a nice time but I had no idea just how nice it would be! Starting out, you have to book your reservation through the website, which was very user friendly. On the website, www.queenslanding.com, you have to choose the date, the number of people, the entree you want and if you would like add ons… like a bottle of champagne, etc. After you select all of the information, you are required to enter in your driver’s license number and pay and they’ll send you a confirmation email.
Upon arrival, (please note that they would like for you to arrive 30 minutes early) the attendant requested to see the DL number that was used to book. She then gave us our boarding tickets and directed us on how to get to the yacht. Upon boarding, another attendant took our tickets and told us where we would be seated, which was at the top of the yacht. Once seated, our appetizer, which was a salad, was brought to us and we were asked if we wanted any alcoholic beverages. We do not drink but people are allowed to pay at the cash bar or create a tab for the open bar.
Before sailing, our captain came out to give the safety instructions and off we went! Shortly after we set sail, the musician onboard started playing live music and he played the entire time! Two hours, nonstop. It was then time for our entrees. We both chose the chicken marsala which was delicious!
They had about 3 or 4 options that you could choose from on the menu when making reservations. For the sides, we had garlic mashed potatoes and green beans (These were not optional). After the entree course, we went to the deck to enjoy the view and mingled with other couples.
Soon after that, our chocolate covered strawberries arrived followed by a slice of cheesecake shortly after. Before we knew it, we were returning to the dock to return to our cars. All in all, the whole atmosphere was wonderful!
So if you’re looking for something different, I believe this would be a wonderful experience. Although we just went for date night, you could celebrate an anniversary, birthday or even wedding aboard the yacht. James and I will definitely be going again and we want to take our children, nieces and nephew along with us. If you decide to go, please let me know how your experience was. I would love to hear about it! Can’t wait to tell you about our next date night.
Cuuuuutttee!!!!! I can’t wait to start date nights back up … I am so looking forward to the quality time and just the time together alone!!!
Thanks!! YESSSSS! Date night is so important. I believe people forget how important it is. I truly look forward to our monthly date nights.
